Boynton Beach area restaurant Pig Sty BBQ will host a fundraiser for The Infinite Hero Foundation this Labor Day weekend. Customers will be able to enjoy World Class BBQ as well as showing their support for veterans and active duty personnel. Beginning Friday, Aug. 30 through Monday Sept. 2, owners Elliot Harris and Bryan Tyrell will offer guests a combination platter of ribs, pulled pork, chicken and a side dish for $10 with 100% of the money generated going to the Foundation.
The Infinite Hero Foundation helps to combat the most front line issues, both physical and mentally, facing military heroes and their families. The non-profit assists in physical rehabilitation, leadership development, suicide prevention, brain health and family support for active duty and veterans.
"We have always been supporters of our veterans and we are honored to help them with both their physical and mental struggles they encounter on a day to day basis," said Tyrell. Elliot and I were looking for the best way to show our support. A few years ago, I was fortunate enough to meet the late Terry Chandler. Her passion for supporting our veterans was contagious and I have been looking for a way to help ever since."
Also, during that time, Tyrell developed a friendship with Jack Beckman, driver of the Infinite Hero NHRA Funny Car.
"I always try to learn things from everyone I come in contact with," said Tyrell. "What I learned from Jack is a psssion for life and the never quit attitude. His commitment to the Infinite Hero Foundation is something that is uplifting to everyone he comes into contact with."
In addition to the food offering, Pig Sty will also raffle off items ranging from MLB autographed items and artwork. Also included will be items from Oakley, NHRA, various professional teams in the area and local businesses.
"We are greatful for the partnership between Pig Sty BBQ and Infinite Hero; the funds and awareness raised through the special BBQ event will directly support our efforts to marshal the resources of technology, community, medical research and mental health care to foster collaborative innovations and affect positive change for our military heroes in need," said Courtney Janes, Executive Director of Infinite Hero Foundation.
In addition to the special combination, Pig Sty will offer a 50% discount to all active military and veterans for the entire weekend.
